MICHELLE
ORNSTEINFounder, Enessa aromatherapy A Visionary of Natural Beauty As a young girl in Israel, Michelle Ornstein was influenced by her parents' adherence to natural medicine. This childhood exposure to natural living developed into a lifelong ritual for Michelle, who founded Enessa wellness spa and created a product line of the same name using natural ingredients. Loosely translated, Enessa means "miracle of the essence" in Hebrew. Upon moving to the United States, Michelle obtained her esthetician's license after graduating high school and later began experimenting with aromatherapy in her early 20s. Fascinated by this ancient form of medicine, she attended the J.D. Schloss Traditional Aromatherapy Center in Tel Aviv, Israel and became a certified aromatherapist. There, she learned directly from leading European doctors and experts about the healing effects of essential oils. Michelle's belief in the ancient art of aromatherapy as an effective skincare treatment led to the creation of an essential oil based product line. Originally conceived as products to address her own skincare needs, her custom-blended Enessa product line contains the highest quality, therapeutic-grade oils from around the world. Michelle's passion to create a wellness sanctuary that would showcase these quality products and offer aromatherapy facials, massage, acupuncture and other holistic services, led to the creation of Enessa Wellness spa on chic Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles in 1997. According to Michelle, the key to beautiful skin begins from the inside out. "You also have to be selective in choosing skincare products," she explains. "I use essential oils for skincare because they penetrate into the bloodstream, detoxifying and balancing the entire body." Michelle's philosophy is to treat skin through a holistic approach. She comments, "This means that you have to work on the whole person to achieve great results." |
